I think a lot about the future of the Internet and how technology effects all of us. Since I am one of the few who writes in the language that technology speaks, I feel I am partially responsible to use my digital scribe in a way that does good for humanity. And at the same time, I recognize the fact that as humans we sometimes just want to express ourselves: I believe that in today's world, code is the clay we can use to create beautiful digital sculptures.

At the age of 15, I designed a 2300 sq. ft. home that was built in Ann Arbor, MI. Driven to succeed at 18, I supported myself by forming a sales business in the after-market automotive industry. By the age of 24, I held a number of leadership roles including teaching at Santa Monica College and working for Side Effects Software presenting technical lectures to industry professionals including software engineers from Apple, and animators from DreamWorks, Sony, and Pixar.

On SESI's behalf, I presented a lecture involving CG Architecture at the 34th Annual ACM Siggraph conference. The algorithmic method for the generation of procedural urban environments I developed was demonstrated to Pixar Animation Studios. While teaching, I developed a series of classes, and some of them are incorporated into the curriculum of Santa Monica College's special effects program.

One day, I had an epiphany and decided to go back to school. I got a full academic scholarship to UC Berkeley, and graduated with honors from the College of Engineering in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Since then I went on to complete a Masters in Science in the same department working on HTML5 technology for digital publishing.

Before I received my Masters, I was fortunate to start both famo.us and brandcast.com with some of the smartest people I've met. Both start-ups are focused on tools for creating web technology, and we're all passionate about making the world a better place.
